There’s quite a few Pearls of the Mediterranean, Corsica, Alexandria, Monte Carlo, Barcelona and more, but Taormina is a particularly lustrous pearl. It spills down a steep hillside to the limpid waters of the Bay of Naxos, is host to an international film festival and has been beloved of artists and writers for centuries.
